Mr. Blake Hesteande

Hello Pilot Point students and parents!

My name is Blake Hesteande and I would like to welcome you to the Pilot Point Agriculture Science department and the Pilot Point FFA chapter! I am one of three teachers in the department, including Mrs. Sarabeth Hesteande and Ms. Stacy Grona. I have an immense passion for agriculture and advocating for its importance in our rapidly changing society. More importantly, my passion rests on educating students about agriculture, it's benefit to the world we live in and the countless opportunities this field can provide to them.

As an instructor, my goal is to see that each of my students is successful, while at the same time realizing that each students' definition of success is and will be different. My hope is that each student that walks into my classroom will find something that motivates them to be competitive, non-complacent and successful in whatever they choose to do.

Being a part of agriculture education and/or Pilot Point FFA provides many opportunities for success and personal growth, both in and out of the classroom. This is the most vast national organization one can be a part of in terms of finding something that interests you. Students within our FFA chapter will have the opportunity to see the sights of Texas as we travel to participate in many events throughout the school year, including Leadership Development Events, Career Development Events, Public Speaking and showing livestock. Our program also offers ag. mechanics, metal and wood fabrication as well as floral design. The FFA organization also provides students with the opportunity to earn college scholarships, and is the largest provider in the nation.

Students, we hope you enjoy your time with us as we enjoy teaching each and every one of you, and we hope that you find your calling in our department. Parents, thank you for trusting us with your students both in and out of the classroom and allowing us the chance to help them find their passion in life.
