My mission as a school counselor is to serve as an advocate to all students. My goal is to support and encourage students to reach their academic, personal, social, and emotional potential. I will partner with teachers, parents and the community while delivering a guidance program that is preventative and developmental in nature. I will work to create a safe and positive environment that assists students in gaining the skills and knowledge needed to become problem solvers and responsible citizens in the 21st Century.
There are four main areas of focus for the counseling program:
~ guidance curriculum to help students develop basic life skills and maximize their full educational potential
~ responsive services component to intervene on behalf of any student whose immediate personal concerns or problems put their continued personal/social, career and/or educational development at risk.
~ individual planning system to guide all students as they plan, monitor, and manage his/her own educational, career, personal, and social development
~ system support to provide indirect student services to assist the efforts of teachers, staff, parents, and other members of the community in promoting the educational, career, personal, and social development of students.
