Mr. Josh Donnelly

Joshua Donnelly just completed his first year teaching at Pilot Point!  Mr. Donnelly graduated in the Class of 2016 at the University of Oklahoma, where he received a bachelors of music education from the Weitzenhoffer Family College of Fine Arts. He grew up in Aledo, Texas and was actively involved in the band program at Aledo High School. Having performed at Texas State Marching Contest, Bands of America, Texas Percussive Arts Society Day of Percussion, and UIL State Solo and Ensemble, Mr. Donnelly then attended the University of Oklahoma in 2011. While studying in the OU Percussion Studio under Dr. Lance Drege, he also performed in the Pride of Oklahoma Marching Band, Symphonic Band, Symphony Orchestra, the OU Steel Drum Band, and many chamber ensembles. His performances took him to venues such as the Oklahoma Music Educator’s Association, Oklahoma Percussive Arts Society Day of Percussion, the Cotton Bowl and the BCS Sugar Bowl. 
During his studies, Mr. Donnelly was also involved in teaching at different programs in the Oklahoma City Metroplex. He spent two years as a front ensemble tech at Southmoore High School, where the band performed at the 6A State Marching Finals and Bands of America Grand Nationals. He also worked with Dr. Michael Raiber and Robyn Hilger at El Sistema Oklahoma, and after-school non-profit program developed to teach Oklahoma City students music education and orchestral performance.
He spent his final semester student teaching under Diane Ackmann at McLoud Public Schools in the spring of 2016, where he lead performances with the middle school and high school band, as well as the basketball pep band. He is currently a member of the Texas Bandmasters Association, the Texas Music Educators Association, the Association of Texas Small School Bands, the Percussive Arts Society, and the National Association for Music Education. When Mr. Donnelly is not teaching, he and his wife, Courtney, reside in Denton, Texas with their kitten and puppy, Shea and Chester.

3rd. Period - 9:38 AM to 10:21 AM - Middle School 7th Grade Band

4th. Period - 10:20 AM to 11:05 AM - Concert Band - High School

5th Period - 11:10 AM - 12:00 PM - Symphonic Band - High School

6th. Period - 12:00 PM to 12:30 PM - Lunch/Conference

7th. Period - 12:40 PM to 2:25 PM - 6th Grade Beginning Band (Split two Classes)

8th. Period - 2:45 PM to 3:30 PM - HS Jazz Band

 

Late Work

One day late- 15 points subtracted from graded paper

Two days late- 30 points subtracted from graded paper

Three days late- student earns a 0

*Policy goes into effect once the teacher has posted grades.
