Welcome to our website.  I hope you will find it helpful and informative.  At any time you need assistance, please do not hesitate to contact your child's teacher or the office.

The 2017-2018 school year marks my twenty-first year in education.   Being in Pilot Point has been a true blessing for my family because, to us, this area is home.   I grew up in Whitesboro, Texas, and graduated from high school in 1993. My wife, Jodi, is a 1998 graduate of Gunter High School.   She's a Speech Language Pathologist at both the elementary and intermediate campuses.   We have two boys.   Cooper is a fourth grader at Pilot Point Intermediate, and Avery is in kindergarten at the elementary school.   In our spare time, we enjoy camping in our RV or helping coach the kids in PPYSA, whether if it's soccer, basketball, or baseball.

In my family, you had two choices:  either become a Dallas Fireman or an educator.   Running into a burning building for a living never sounded too fun to me, so I went with the classroom instead.  I've loved every minute of it!

I originally started as an English teacher in Terrell, Texas, and then moved to Gunter to serve as an English teacher and girls coach.  After teaching and coaching there for two years, I moved to Van Alstyne where I stayed for five years.  I moved into administration when I went to Anna ISD, first serving as an assistant principal at AHS, and then I served as the principal of Anna Middle School for six years, from 2007-2013.   We left the area for one year, when I served as a superintendent, but returned in 2014.   This year marks my fourth year as the principal of Pilot Point High School.

We are very proud of what we have accomplished over the past four years.   Our STAAR scores are competing with surrounding schools that are not nearly as diverse as us.  TEA announced that we received a total of SIX DISTINCTIONS for our success--by far the highest amount of distinctions in the area.  We continue to expand our dual credit program.   This year will be the first year that our students can take dual credit CTE courses. Three years ago, we only had eight students competing in UIL Academics.   This past year we had well over 40 students compete, with six advancing to the regional level.   As everyone knows, we have the best Ag program in the state, and the Mighty Bearcat Band is growing and improving each year too.   Athletically, we have one of the best Cross Country programs around, one that competes at the state level year after year. The boys basketball team went two rounds deep in the playoffs last year, and the softball team went three rounds deep.   Pilot Point has a long tradition of excellence, and our kids and our teachers are ensuring that tradition continues.

It's always great to be a Bearcat!
